How to use it
- Choose a file.
- Drag across the waveform over the section to keep. Tap the waveform to move the playhead and press play to check your cut points.
- Press "Keep selection". Add a fade in or out if the cut sounds abrupt.
- Download as MP3, WAV or OGG.
Clean cuts without clicks
A cut in the middle of a waveform cycle creates a sudden jump, heard as a click. A 5–20 ms fade at each edge hides it. Select a few milliseconds at the edge and press "Fade in" or "Fade out", or leave nothing selected to apply a 2-second fade to the start or end.
MP3 files are decoded to raw audio before cutting, then re-encoded when you save. If you want zero extra generation loss, export WAV.
Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded, processed and encoded by your own browser using the Web Audio API. Nothing is sent to a server, which is also why it works on large files without a queue.
Will trimming reduce quality?
The cut itself is lossless. Saving back to MP3 re-encodes the audio, which at 192 kbps or higher is inaudible for most material. Choose WAV if you plan to edit the result again.
Can I cut an MP3 on my phone?
Yes. The trimmer works in mobile Chrome and Safari. Drag with one finger to select; the handles are sized for touch.
