How to use it
- Press Record and say something (or open an audio file).
- Tap a preset: Deep voice, Chipmunk, Robot, Old radio, Telephone, Canyon echo, Cathedral or Monster.
- Play it back. Tap another preset to compare.
- Download as MP3, WAV or OGG.
How each effect works
Deep, Chipmunk and Monster use a pitch shifter that keeps your timing: the audio is time-stretched, then resampled, so words stay the same length. Robot multiplies your voice by a 50 Hz sine wave (ring modulation), which produces the metallic Dalek sound. Old radio and Telephone cut away the lows and highs and add gentle saturation, and Echo and Cathedral add a feedback delay and a long reverb.
Consent and fair use
These are sound effects, not voice cloning. VocalForge cannot make you sound like a specific real person, and it should not be used to impersonate anyone or to disguise your voice to deceive. Only process recordings of other people with their permission.
Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded, processed and encoded by your own browser using the Web Audio API. Nothing is sent to a server, which is also why it works on large files without a queue.
Can I use it live on Discord or Zoom?
No. This voice changer processes recordings. Live voice changing needs a virtual audio driver installed on your computer.
Is it an AI voice changer?
No. The effects are classic signal processing (pitch shifting, ring modulation, filtering, delay and reverb). That keeps it instant and fully offline.
